Has been relatively problem-free, though sometimes feels slower than El Capitan. I have been running High Sierra on my 3,1 2008 8-core Mac Pro since September 2018, using DosDude1's installation. Since I already did a hack firmware update, I'm afraid to do this yet until I know more about it. Warning I went to install it on an internal SSD and it says it wants to do a firmware update. I just booted this same machine from a High Sierra install on an external drive and it is what I'm using at this moment with no apparent issues. I have had no issues with this installation for the last year. I did open a new install of MS Office 2011 which had reports that it was not going to work but so far have seen no issues. I did my first install of 10.13 last night on a 2012 13" MBP without issue as expected but really have not looks at it yet. I posted this to see if anyone has done it yet, also because I know we will have question on it, and to see if anyone has attempted it yet and has any advice. I'm first going to try the install on a 2008 MacPro, then try it on either a 2008 and/or early 2009 MacBook Pro. But, after watching a couple of videos, right now it appears I will not have to do a firmware update. At the time I did it last year, it appeared that it couldn't be done on the 2008 MacPro. I did the Sierra upgrade on a couple of MacPros 4,1 and it has worked excellently, after I did a firmware update patch to get it to read as a MacPro 5,1, so I am very optimistic on doing it again. I am currently researching installing OS X 10.13 High Sierra on unsupported Macs. Now all of a sudden it won't stop stuttering in EVERYTHING. If there's no fix to this, does it mean that I have to hold off until the next Yuzu or Steam Deck update, whichever fixes this problem? However, while playing in windowed mode, I observed that the stutters, 0fps and lag occurs even when no shaders are being built. That's why the FPS counter is dipping down to ~30fps at the start of the match and levels back up to 60fps. The stuttering seems to be exclusive to Yuzu, I haven't had any stuttering issues with Ryujinx on Vulkan playing at 30fps. ![]() A compatibility list specifically for the steam deck would be a pointless waste of time. The last two months have been a bit on the slow side for some of the emulators being used on the Steam Deck, but it hasn't been quiet! Some massive improvements have come from Yuzu with Project Y. When yuzu crashes or freezes, switch back to the terminal and type bt at the (gdb) prompt. At that point, the FPS drops to exactly half at 30 FPS and struggles to go beyond that. |
